HSA PrimeCare Team Member Volunteers with CREW Chicago to Build Homes for Low Income Women-Led Families in West Pullman
October 14, 2019

Last week, HSA PrimeCare director of marketing and senior associate of leasing/development, Olivia Wirth participated in Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s 2019 Women Build event in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. The annual five-day event brings together over 400 women with the goal of raising $275,000 and advancing the construction of Habitat Chicago’s affordable homes. Olivia joined a team of twelve builders assembled by CREW Chicago, the Chicago chapter of CREW Network, a global organization for women in commercial real estate, and together the team members contributed to the successful completion of both of these goals.

In the months preceding the scheduled build day, the team earned the title of top fundraiser by collectively raising $23,391 including a $6,000 donation from CREW Chicago’s board of directors. With the generosity and support of friends, family, and colleagues at HSA, Olivia was able to contribute $1,370 to the total donation.

Upon arriving on site on build day, the team was tasked with cutting and installing vinyl siding on one of the houses. When weather conditions presented challenges, the team moved indoors where they cut and laid tile flooring in the front entryway and vinyl plank flooring in the bedrooms. Olivia and the CREW Chicago team had the pleasure of working alongside three of the women who will be purchasing the new homes once they are complete.

Olivia would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped contribute to the strength and stability that homeownership will bring to these women-led families.
